Services

Research Computing’s goal is to support and facilitate Dana-Farber Cancer Institute research efforts using sustainable, cutting-edge technology. We offer an array of services to support the computing needs of DFCI's research community. Use the links to the left or above to access information about specific services.

In addition to the services listed, we also collaborate with DFCI research community members on custom solutions to unique computing needs. We are able to refer, consult, and assist in supporting a variety of IT-related issues that may seem unconventional or unclear. If you have an IT question or concern that you would like to explore, we’re here to help. Please contact one of our directors, and we will work together on a solution.

Accessing services

If you need more information about or access to Research Computing services, contact us.

Please note that Research Computing’s regular support hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Computing support is not an on-call service. However, in emergencies or system outages that have a broad impact, we will respond after hours to the best of our ability. All requests that are not outage related will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the number of ongoing requests and projects, please plan for up to two weeks for your request to be completed.

Research Computing’s IT assistance for DFCI researchers is integrated with the Partners IS Service Desk (which handles all of DFCI’s IS [“help desk”] requests and routes them accordingly). If you need IT assistance related to a workstation issue, submit a Partners IS Service Desk ticket (if you are a DFCI researcher, the ticket will be routed to Research Computing):

Partners IS Service Desk by phone: 617-632-3399

IMPORTANT: To expedite your request and ensure it’s routed correctly, be sure to identify yourself as a member of the DFCI research community.
